Russell Freedman writes nonfiction is such a readable way. In fact, he made a nonfiction reader out of me whenl I read Kids at Work. He pulls his readers in with his writing and carefully selected primary sources. The photos and art work help readers really "get it."
In this video he talks about his book War to End All Wars about World War I. His remarks on WW I and war in general are sincere and moving in their simplicity.
